Currently, it is not possible to enter Myanmar without a valid tourist or business Visa. However, visa applications only take a few days to process. You can apply for an electronic visa online at www.visa.gov.mm or at your local Myanmar Embassy or Consulate. Learn more about Visas.

One misconception about visiting Myanmar is that you must buy a tour package before traveling and then change 200-300 USD into Foreign Exchange Certificates on arrival. This is no longer the case. You are free to make your own travel arrangements and you don't need to change any money.
A word of caution:
There are very few places in Myanmar which will accept so you might be better off purchasing a tour while abroad, otherwise bring adequate cash with you.
